Hi there! I’m Allison – I am a mom, wife, nurse, and avid runner with a thirst for adventure. I am always seeking new challenges to push my limits and this July I am tackling my biggest adventure yet – I am running across Nova Scotia from Tip to Tip! I will start in Clark’s Harbour on July 10th and finish 800 km later in Meat Cove, Cape Breton.

As a runner, I like to tackle hard things but nothing compares to the challenges facing our babies in our IWK Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where I am a nurse. As we care for Atlantic Canada’s tiniest warriors - these sick and premature babies, every moment can be a battle against fear, heartache, and survival. Parents endure sleepless nights, agonizing waiting, and the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with watching their tiny babies fight for life. My Tip to Tip run across Nova Scotia is a fundraiser for the NICU and the families and babies we have the privilege of caring for.

Why donate to the NICU? Because it's about saving the tiniest lives and supporting families through one of the toughest times imaginable. Your donation isn't just about money; it's about giving hope and practical help to babies fighting to survive and their families. It could mean providing vital equipment, or directly supporting families with the expenses that come with a NICU stay, such as necessary medical equipment they may need to be able to take their baby home.
