2024 - Trailblazer For Cancer

Saturday, June 22, 2024

Registration opens soon!

On Saturday, June 22, 2024, walkers, runners and cyclists of all ages will come together on the St. Margaret's Bay "Rails to Trails" to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and to show support for individuals and families affected by cancer.

All funds raised from Trailblazer for Cancer will support the Atlantic Division of the national Terry Fox PROFYLE project (short for PRecision Oncology For Young peopLE) through the IWK Foundation. 80 per cent of children diagnosed with cancer will survive but outcomes are poor for the 20 per cent whose cancers have spread, returned or are resistant to treatment. This project—for the first time in Canadian history—will bring together more than 30 pediatric cancer research and funding organizations to give children, adolescents and young adults who do not have conventional treatment options left another chance to overcome their cancer.

About the Event

Registration opens soon!

In 2014, Cory Bell and Chris Nolan joined forces with the idea to organize a family-oriented event to support individuals and families facing a cancer diagnosis while raising funds for cancer research. This initial idea has blossomed into the event we all know and love today, Trailblazer For Cancer. Since its inception, through a dedicated committee and loyal donors, Trailblazer For Cancer has raised 1.2 million to support cancer research!

We are very proud of these accomplishments, and we hope you are too because you are a part of the Trailblazer family.

We look forward to seeing you on the trail!
