Important Update on the Cancellation of Trailblazer For Cancer

Like all of you, we are so proud of our community and the incredible efforts of our firefighters, first responders and legions of volunteers who have rallied together during this exceptionally challenging time.

Nova Scotians have once again demonstrated their resilience and collective spirit and our thoughts are with the many families who have been impacted by these devasting wildfires across our region.

Given these current circumstances, we have taken some time to reflect and connect with our partners at the IWK Foundation. We have made the decision to cancel this year’s event on June 24th, but we are committed to supporting the IWK Telethon this summer as Trailblazer donors. During the rescheduled Telethon, we will have an opportunity to share the Trailblazer story and impact to date.

Our fundraising efforts will continue, if you have registered for the event, we hope you will consider continuing to raise funds through your online page. Funds that we have raised so far this year and throughout the summer will be committed specifically to Terry Fox PROFYLE (PRecision Oncology For Young peopLE) the national cancer research program that began in 2017.

About the Event

In 2014, Cory Bell and Chris Nolan joined forces with the idea to organize a family-oriented event to support individuals and families facing a cancer diagnosis while raising funds for cancer research. This initial idea has blossomed into the event we all know and love today, Trailblazer For Cancer. Since its inception, through a dedicated committee and loyal donors, Trailblazer For Cancer has raised 1.2 million to support cancer research!

We are very proud of these accomplishments, and we hope you are too because you are a part of the Trailblazer family.

We look forward to seeing you on the trail!
